It’s official: St. Tammany Health System’s Northlake Surgical Associates has a new home – and it’s not far from its old one.
Over the weekend, the longtime local general surgery practice completed a relocation to 728 W. 11th Ave. in Covington, which is one block from its previous home across the street from the St. Tammany Parish Hospital Emergency Department. Its phone number remains unchanged, at (985)892-3766.
In addition to providing refreshed office and clinical space, the move makes room for construction of the previously announced five-level parking garage that will occupy most of the block on which the former Northlake Surgical office is located. Work on the garage is scheduled to begin later this year.
Founded in 1970 as Cardone Surgical Associates, the practice changed its name to Demarie & Hunter in 1987 and then to Northlake Surgical in 1995. A decade later, in 2015, it was acquired by St. Tammany Health System and today practices under the health system’s St. Tammany Physicians Network banner.
Northlake Surgical’s experienced team of board-certified surgeons are experts in a range of traditional and laparoscopic procedures including gallbladder resection; hernia repair; acid reflux therapies, thyroid surgery, colon, small intestine and stomach surgery, port placement for cancer treatment, as well as breast surgery. It also operates the Breast Disease and High-Risk Clinic at the St. Tammany Health System Women’s Pavilion in Covington.
